Man jumping chasm to get money.By Jeanne Hurlbert, PhD

One of the things I’m asked all the time is how you really make social media and surveys work together.

Well, there are LOTS of profitable ways; our new product creation system, which will be out very shortly, is one way to do that.

Another way to leverage social media and surveys—an amazingly simple one—is to use social media to drive traffic to your survey.

To teach you how this works, I’m going to tell you about a survey we’re doing right now.

AND, I’m not only going to teach you about how this works, I’m going to give you a chance to TAKE the survey—to see what we’re up to—AND get the chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card!

Remember, you ALWAYS given an incentive to get people to respond to your survey and in this one, we’re giving away 5 $100 Amazon gift cards.

If you just want to see what we’re doing, go here.

If you want to know more about how YOU can do this in YOUR business to make MONEY, keep reading!

Here’s the deal:  I’m doing a survey for a client right now.  The survey is about a back pain product.  It’s really quick—it only takes about a minute to do.

Here’s how we’re finding people who have back pain to take the survey:

First, I went to search.Twitter.com.  I searched for “hashtags” related to back pain.  You see, when people want other people who are interested in a particular topic to see their tweets, they use a “hashtag,” like this:  #back #pain.

So if I go and search on #back #pain, I’ll find all the tweets that have been posted with that hash tag.

You get the idea:  If I want to find people interested in back pain to take my survey, I just need to identify the relevant hash tags and use them!

So that’s exactly what I’m doing.  I found 4 different, relevant hash tags and I’m tweeting regularly with those hash tags, to drive relevant people—my population, in survey geek terms—to the survey.

Can you do this in YOUR business?  ABSOLUTELY!

Put up a lead page and ask people what their #1 question is about back pain or whatever your niche is, with an optin.  Find relevant hash tags and use Twitter to drive people to the page.  You’ll get information to create a product and target your messages and offers AND you’ll build your list at the same time!

I’m using other social media techniques, as well, and over the next few days, I’ll tell you more about them.

Here’s the cool part about the incentive:  Instead of giving away all of the gift cards at the END of the survey, we’re “dribbling them out,” over the next week.

We’re going to draw for the first one TODAY (so act fast if you want a chance to win:  Go to http://www.Research4BackPain.com).

We’ll give away 4 more between now and 5 November.

So why string it out like that?  Look at what we can do, then:  We get to tweet, post on our fan page, and post on the blog EACH TIME we give away one of the gift cards.

That builds buzz and interest in the survey, which is very cool.  But it also gives us legitimacy, because we’re showing people that we really are giving the gift cards away.

So to see what we’re doing, just go to http://www.Research4BackPain.com.

And stay tuned, because over the next few days I’ll report on how this is going and tell you more about the cool ways we’re using social media to drive traffic to our survey!
